Earlier this year I moved into a up-to-date home, and I couldn’t be happier with the decision that I made, in hindsight.
For a while I was looking to purchase my own house, however it seemed impossible to put in an offer and get a satisfactory response from the selling realtor.
Eventually, I provided up and signed on for a year-long lease in a rental house. Now I couldn’t be happier with this decision. I’m not sure that I wanted to stay in this area, and I do not need to be tied down by a condo purchase. There are few things about this region that I’m still not in love with. As much as I love the mild and self-explanatory Winters around here, the summers are certainly brutal. I am grateful that I can get through the winter without having to kill my central heater, however I worry a lot about the summer time times and operating my giant a/c unit. Because the outdoor climate here is overheated and humid for at least eight months out of the year, people rely heavily on their indoor cooling systems. If you do not have a powerful a/c unit, it can be dangerous to live in this environment. That’s why I have apparently been using my a/c machine rather heavily the whole time I’ve lived here. A few days ago my AC machine broke down out of the red. In the absence of my continually running cooling system, I realized something new… I also hate the parakeets that live in this area. Without my AC condenser to scare them away, a dozen screeching creatures jarred me awake first thing in the afternoon. The sounds were tremendous. I guess there’s another reason for consistently running your AC around here, obnoxious wildlife.
