Reading HVAC van, accidentally cause accident

The other morning started incredibly rough for me.

  • It’s already been a difficult year so far, and I really didn’t need immediate expenses piled into 2020.

I woke up one morning last week, and thought that my room felt very muggy and stagnant. It seems like there was no circulation in the room or my ventilation system was not running, because it felt so humid and unfresh. I checked the windows, and sure enough they were closed. I held my hand up to the air vents, and didn’t feel any fresh air escaping through the grate. It didn’t seem like any air was passing through my extensive air ducts, even though I could hear my air conditioning system running in the background. I didn’t have much time to investigate the failed cooling system problem, because I was already about 10 minutes late for work. I turned off the thermostat, got ready as quickly as I could, and ran out the door. On my way to work, HVAC repair was definitely on my mind. As I was driving down the highway I happened to see a massive, brightly-coloured work van advertising a brand new cooling specialist in our area. Of course, it caught my eye and I was trying to read the prices advertised on the van for regular and emergency repair services. I was so distracted by my HVAC problem that I completely lost track of the road. I slipped into the lane next to me and accidentally sideswiped another car. After that, I spent the morning dealing with police reports and insurance companies. It was a long day before I was able to call that HVAC company and get my cooling system repaired.
