Sharing a shed and only one side of the roof was done

I recently bought a house that I share a shed with the guy next door.

There is a wall that separates the two sheds, but they share a roof.

Apparently the previous owner of my side was a cheapo. I noticed that the shed roof had been redone but only one side of it had been updated. The neighbor had a sweet, gray shingle roof. My side had an ugly, old brown shingle that was coming off in places. I talked to the neighbor about updating the entire roof. The guy had just paid for a new one 4 years ago. He didn’t want to do it again. I didn’t want to have one side be slightly old and one side be brand new. What about when the guy wanted to update again? Mine would be totally new. I decided to just replace the entire roof of the shed. It was a shed after all, not an entire house. The cost of the whole roof wasn’t bad. The only snag was getting the neighbor to agree on a roof with me. The guy of course was totally fine with super expensive, high end options for no money. I had to find a way for him to meet me in the middle of a more reasonable cost. I ended up picking a moderately priced shingle roof that is a black. It looks way better now that the roof is all updated and new. Now the two of us share a solid roof all the way through. I really wish we didn’t share a shed. It is kind of annoying that stuff like this I need his permission for.
